In Germany, no state police or federal police have ever used a ported pistol, nor do they currently use such a pistol. That is also true for the German Bundeswehr.
I don’t think Germany is a good example of leading the way with new firearm concepts. Look at the P99 which was a striker-fired pistol specifically developed to meet double-action trigger requirements of German Police. The DA striker-fired concept hasn’t really stood the test of time. Another example is H&K not offering optics-ready pistols until just recently.

For information on ported pistols in “special operations”, search for Roland Special Glock and you’ll find information dating back to even before 2015.

Not every "new" firearm concept has to be a good one just because it is "new"...
About the P99 as a service weapon in Germany: The P99 is a service weapon for three German state police forces, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate and Schleswig-Holstein.

I am glad we can all have civilized discussions with different opinions. I hope we will continue on this route.

The chunk port, as with most modifications, is not going to make or break you. But it is something I wanted and after shooting my chunk ported PDP I feel it is worth it.

Curious if red dots are allowed or used by German law enforcement?

One can be sure that if porting would bring any benefit and advantage to the service weapons of these state institutions, porting would have been introduced there long ago. As I said, that has never been done.
As far as I know, what just has been said also applies to the police forces and armed forces of all other European countries.

Did you remove the light and shoot during the same session to determine if there is any difference?

As far as I know, no red dots are used in Germany for normal patrol duty or by the criminal police. I don't know how it is with the so-called SEKs (Sondereinsatzkommando - special task force), but I could imagine it.
Red dots are not forbidden on the slide, not even for civilian handguns.
However, undergun mounted lights and lasers are prohibited for civilian handguns.

I did not but I always have the light attached so I would be comparing my setup (light/rds/trigger) vs my setup with the chunk port.

I think the best comparison would be if I could get my hands on another PDP. I'll have to check with my range if they have one for rent and I'll remove my light and compare them.

Here is my 4" compact Chunk Ported by Monsoon Tactical.

Took it to the range and put about 350 124gr Norma FMJs through it and a mag of 147gr HP gold dots. It is using the stock recoil spring as far as I know. Everything fired as intended with 0 malfunctions. The gun locked back on empty every time as well.

As for the muzzle flip it is noticeably reduced. I was able to keep my sight picture and dot in focus a lot easier so follow up shots were faster and more accurate. It would be interesting to fire a stock PDP vs a chunk ported PDP side by side for a comparison. I'll have to see if the range has a PDP for rental next time.

If this is something you want to do I'd say do it. It looks and works great IMO. I can see why people send their Staccatos into them for chunk porting.

Lead time is 5-7 weeks but they don't need the slide until they are ready to work on it. Once they got my slide in it was back in my hands in a week (would have been sooner if UPS wasn't delayed due to bad weather). View attachment 103310

Where can I get this done and how much?

Pretty cool. A chunky port for a chonky pistol.. PDP has a unique look to it, almost like something you would see in a sci-fi movie.

I would want to move my front site. 🥲

I'm pretty sure you can have your front sight removed. Not sure where else you would want to put it?

Where can I get this done and how much?

The primary issue is escaping gas...not energy. If you go to 22:15 and watch his chrono tests you will see that the diff from the non ported Stacatto to the chunk and and stacc is 25fps and 40fps. That is much less loss than most supressors and considered quite acceptable by most. If your energy requirement is materially affected by those reductions then you probably need to consider different loads or calibers.
Guys a little crazy I'm not going wrestle I'll defend myself with my ported pistol before we wrestle I'll shoot lol
