Very nice pistols there ! My interest in .32ACP is mainly with the pre 1945 guns. I've never heard of the FN140 before although I have thought about picking up a P230. I'd love to hear a range report with those two.

I don't shoot all my guns. Most of them reside in the safe. But I shoot a P230 (in .32 too) quite regularly and it's one of my favourite guns. It's accurate and shoots well despite of the lightweight aluminum frame. I also love the heel magazine release.

 

The P230 has no proof marks at all?

It's most unusual for the milled-out caliber designation. Somehow that smacks of Hammerli work.

I own five P230/232 models. Not two of them have all their proof marks at the same location. One of them shows the caliber in a milled-out area too. The right sides of the slides look quite different however.

I've removed some old grease and then I was able to locate the proof marks on my latest addition. The nitro proof mark on the slide is very weak (circle on last photo). The date code is JA, so 1980 is the year of the proof.

 

A SIG P230 in 7.65mm would be very high on my want list. Excellent pistols. Very nice.
