Almost two months ago, I went ahead and purchased the Viridian Defense Kit directly from Walther as the kit is cheaper than getting the optic and light separately.

After a couple months, I figured I'd share what's happened since I got it. First off, the optic fit perfectly onto the slide and looks plain badass, matching the slide serrations. I practically had no zeroing to do, especially from 7 and 10 yards. 15 required a slight tweaking but it basically was shootable from go.

Left was 7 yards, right was 10 yards. Nuff said.
Having astigmatism made me go green dot as red spiders out for me, and I have a Holosun 407K Green Dot. The Viridian, for me, is much better and easier to zero in. Holosun required some sort of holistic seance and shimming to get it zeroed. Without a shim (which I didn't know was a thing until hating my Holosun for not being able to co-witness with the iron sight, and then researching it) it co-witnesses just fine. For those curious, it's essentially a RFX11 with a modified body for the Walther.

(Sorry about the blurry pic, if I focused on the slide the dot seemed to balloon out) Using the green dot, I put about 500 rounds through it, and there was no deviation off center, and the screws did not back out (unlike the Holosun, which requires you to torque higher than recommended specs. Recommended torque specs makes the screws to get loose after maybe 200 rounds. I'm not a fan).
Now for the light.

It is a rechargeable light with 3 lumen modes; 120, 210 and 580 lumens, plus a strobe feature. The Viridian website shows a max of 525. Not sure why the Walther Custom is higher lumens. Specs show to be drop safe from 3 meters and is IPX6 water resistant. It comes with a charging brick for recharge on the go, and associated cable. I wasn't even aware that Safe Charge meant power source. I just thought it was Viridian speak for you recharge the battery
What I really like is the Instant-On feature. This means, with a compatible holster, the light will automatically come on when drawn from the holster, and shut off when reholstered. It was a pain to find a holster company, and there's a thread for that.
A month in, I went to prep my PDP for range fun, and the light didn't work. I went to charge it, thinking it died from lack of use, but no; it wouldn't charge and it was dead. Removed it, and spent a day trying to get it going to no avail. So, next day I called Viridian. I immediately got a person on the phone, and explained what happened. Before the phone call ended, I had a FedEx label in my inbox with the instructions to return the light (just the light). I sent it on a Tuesday day, and I got a FedEx package the following Tuesday. It was a big box so I was completely surprised when they sent me a new-in-box light, with everything in it; sealed and unopened. There was no proof of purchase required as it has a lifetime warranty. Their customer service was outstanding.
Since then, it's worked and charged fine. It lasts a while (I haven't timed it, but it's lengthy. Specs show 10 to 60 minutes depending on lumen setting. I have it at 210 so in theory it's 30 minutes) and gets warm after a lengthy amount of time being on, but not hot.
