I rather unexpectedly happened upon a PDP Compact 5" model this morning at a local gunshop and I grabbed it, so yes, they're out there, and...she is a sexy beast!

The factory installed Medium backstrap makes the pistol fit perfectly in my large hand, it's grip ergos and texture are both excellent for me, and with a full mag it feels very well in hand. All I have left to do now is decide on an optic and whether or not I'll go with the free Walther optic plate or opt for the C+H Precision Weapons optic plate instead...

I'll return at some point in the near future to post my experiences after running it a bit :)

I found one at my local gun shop as well, I'm looking for the compact 4" and the shop told that is what they had ordered but were sent the compact 5" instead. Curious about your range report and holster selection if going to carry concealed.
I seems that these pistols are slowly making their way into gunshops, but in no particular order! And forget about the prices on GunStroker...I just saw one of the Compact 5" models offered for a Starting Bid of $899 :censored: I paid $625+ for mine, which I didn't think was too bad a price amidst this plandemic.

Anyway, the business that I purchased the pistol from is first and foremost a Kydex holster shop, so after I decide on an optic and have it mounted I'll bring it to him and he'll custom fit an IWB holster for it.

My fondness for this Walther Compact 5" model is due to my fondness of the long barrel/short height frame of the Detonics StreetMaster pistols from years ago...

...which were easier to conceal and offered the potential for better accuracy.

Speaking of which, I'm expecting good accuracy from this pistol, and with its stepped chamber and polygonal rifling I doubt that I'll be disappointed.

I hope you'll soon have your Compact 4" :)

So it appears that if you attempted to put a 4" upper on the 5" frame, the dust cover would extend past the end of the slide. Is that correct?
That would be correct. Why someone would want to have the dust cover of their pistol extend past the slide is unknown to me, but Walther says it will work.

Directly from the Walther website:

"MODULARITY
The PDP is the most modular and versatile pistol ever designed by Walther. With two distinctly different frame sizes and three different lengths of slides available you can truly tailor this pistol to be READY for your specific needs. Any slide length can fit on any frame, even if it is not a factory offering. If you are READY for a shorter dust cover with a longer slide or a shorter slide than dust cover it’s easy to configure."

See the Walther Arms website for more info on the PDP features and variants...

Got the same last weekend at local gun show. Having problems finding a holster for it. Please let me know what you find and I will do the same. Checking out a few shops around town to see if anyone has anything.
To be honest I haven't even looked at holster options for this PDP Compact 5" version yet. But I do see that Walther is offering a retention holster for the 4.5" and 5" PDP models that will support an optic and an attached weapon mounted light here...

I figure on having a custom Kydex holster made for mine after I decide on an optic; as mentioned above, the shop where I purchased the pistol is first and foremost a holster shop, and since the pistol is so new he doesn't yet have a pistol form for it, and will be using my pistol as a form. Perhaps you could share what type of holster you'd be interested in (IWB appendix, OWB crossdraw, what color or pattern of Kydex, etc.,), and after I have him make a holster up for me I could post images of it here, so you could have an idea of his quality of workmanship. And if you liked what you saw I'd be glad to offer my pistol for him to use as a form to make a holster for your pistol if he hadn't yet gotten a form to use.
