Just noticed that the lighttucks now come with a claw option.

Kinda a bummer for me as this came out after I already ordered one for my ppq.

I would think it can be ordered an installed on previous Vedder holsters. I don't see a need, my holster works great without it.

Vedder needs to focus on Q45 mag pouches (still waiting). I'll take two (or a double pouch)!

It doesn’t look super impressive but given vedder’s reputation I’d say it is on point.

It’s good to hear it works fine without. I have honestly never heard anyone complain about not having a claw on a lighttuck.

Being a 3:30/4:00 guy anyway I probably won’t worry about it but it is nice to have the option.

Barbell: If you're still interested, I just saw that they have a Claw upgrade kit for $5.99 and free shipping. Looks like a cheap and easy upgrade.

The claw is really intended to be primarily used if you're carrying appendix IWB.

I've always sworn by JMCK for my appendix rigs (I've got several of them); but for $6 I figured I might as well give the Vedder solution a try.

Yeah I saw that (and I much appreciate your keeping this thread in mind, btw). I know it’s intended for AIWB which I’m not doing at the moment anyway but I always figured i would play around with it at some point. I can’t for the life of me get it to conceal aiwb the way I can when I carry at 4:00. I don’t think a claw would help, either, but I am glad that Vedder gives the option for those that do.

Long story short, I determined it wasn’t worth it.

I’m pretty fit but unless I had a massive chest and really un-fun body fat levels (or wear huge shirts), I don’t think appendix will ever be for me.

Kind of a shame though because I bet it makes sitting down real comfortable. It can get annoying having a gun digging in your back all day, sometimes.

Well I gave appendix a try and it actually works better than I thought. I went ahead and purchased the claw and attached it to my P99c but there is an issue.

The actual claw part is a little shorter than it should be. I keep my ride height at the middle setting and only half the claw contacts my belt. It works but not as well as I hoped.

I changed the clip to the lowest option (highest ride height) but I can't conceal it as well and the claw contact isn't too much better.

Has anyone added a makeshift wedge to one of these (Vedder lighttuck) holsters? I am curious if that would help me at all (strictly for appendix, that is).

I just got my lighttuck holster yesterday for my CCP M2, fits perfectly. And I got the claw with it too. I’ll be setting it to it’s lowest configuration as soon as I can. I’m impressed by the workmanship and the turnaround time for these folks. I ordered mine Tuesday and got it yesterday! I guess it doesn’t hurt they’re only 2 hours from my house either :D.
