Is it ok to dry fire a PDP without using snap caps?

Could failure to use snap caps cause the firing pin to break?

Hi brianbro--I dry fire on my PDP compact and Creed without snap caps - though I used them for 2 years before I got Barrel Blok...never had a problem with firing pin issues. I use Mantis X 3 and Laser Academy as programs for dry fire. Mantis X 3 uses a sensor that attaches to your rail. Laser Academy uses a laser cartridge that beams to targets on your wall. I've got over 90,000 dryfire shots on Laser Academy and lost count with Mantis X3 over three years use. I go to the range monthly and both firearms function without any problem. Enjoy dry fireing.
