I have the most inexpensive and effective concealed carry holster you can get. It comes free in every jacket or coat I buy.

They call them "Pocket Pistols" for a reason. ;)

I've begun using a Don Hume JIT holster for my Walther PPK/S. So far it is working out very well, I like it. Inexpensive too.

To the poster who mentioned the yaqui slide holster, watch those! I had a Galco yaqui slide paddle holster for 1911s. It had been used off and on for a couple years. Month or so ago it dumped my Les Baer TRS to the cement. Thing just fell out of the holster while I was standing there. The tension screws had loosened over time. Those screws are also the only things holding the holster together, so when they loosened the whole holster fell apart.

Sure, my fault for not checking the screws, although it honestly never occurred to me. But I will never use a holster like that again that is entirely reliant on screws to keep it together.

What's the verdict on this holster after a few months? Does it do well for daily carry? Comfortable/stable/etc? It's one of my finalists for a new concealment holster.
Thanks!
S0rry for the delayed response. I have not been wearing it often. I find the adjustment for cant tends to move. That has been inconvenient. The belt loop is difficult to remove. Not as handy for removing the holster quickly and inconspicuously.

I am still trying to decide upon my favorite.

I like Ken Null's SMZ (I have 3 of them), but not his strapping system. By the way - I don't know about his leather work speed, but the SMZs go out the door extremely fast (24 hours, IIRC). So I created a genuine Frankenholster consisting of a Bianchi X-harness, a Galco Lite shoulder rig's single mag pouch, and the holster part of the SMZ. The Bianchi is a great item for guys (or girls) with small shoulders who want the gun riding very high.
Need to take some pictures of said holster.

Uncle Mikes IWB

I'm still on the search for "that perfect holster" and am realizing that this search might not ever end. I picked up an inexpensive Uncle Mikes IWB holster for small .380's to see if I could tolerate IWB carry. The holster is slim, made of cheap synthetic materials with a large non-canted plastic clip. The tip of the clip is shaped like an upside-down "T" so that it can be clipped either over-pants-and-belt or over-pants-under-belt, to keep the holster in place during the draw. There is not really any retention; I wore it at strongside 4 o'clock and found the gun to slip about when standing/sitting/squatting. It does fit the gun well, though, and the price is right at $12. I think this is going to become the holster I use to protect the gun when I throw it in my pack for a hike.

My PPK rides around in a Bianchi Model 100. It's a thick holster and I wish I could tuck over it, but for a PPK it's pretty nice, and retains and re-holsters well, and is very comfortable. I even fell off my bike and the gun stayed put.

I tried the same holster with a Glock 19, and the Bianchi 100 is NOT recommended for that application - it does not cover the trigger guard there, and does not pull in the grip enough to conceal well.

Getting a new one today for my PPK/S

I know this has been probably been ask a 100 times here however here’s 101:) I am curious to know what holster and type are carriers using now days? TIA

I am getting delivery this evening of a custom made holster for my PPK/S from a local member of the Hoosiergunclub.com forum I belong to. I pasted photo below. Soon as I wear it for a few days I will give a report. I know a lot of guys who have purchased holsters from Mills Tactical and love them. I asked for it to be made for a cross draw IWB with belt clips. This is a link to his facebook page if anyone is interested in seeing what he has to offer. He is a nice young guy trying to develop this part time business. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Fishers-IN/Mills-Tactical/117281214969205

Ace Case Ankle Holster

I was at the WAC October gun show and found an Ace Case ankle holster for small frame .380's . It fit the PPK/S well, and for $16 I couldn't resist giving it a try. I've never used an ankle holster before, but I've since learned it's a whole different beast. It seems to be a great concealment option, but the sensation of a 2lb weight swinging at the end of your left leg might take some getting used-to.

The Ace Case is a padded, synthetic holster with a velcro-adjustable snap thumb break. The main ankle strap is 4" nylon webbing with velcro closure. It doesn't stretch at all, which makes it difficult to get a secure fit. Also, it closes in a cylinder-shape, rather than a tapered-cone shape (the calf muscle naturally tapers to a smaller diameter at the ankle- If the holster slips down at all, it will become loose due to the smaller diameter of the ankle). There is a calf-strap attached to the holster by another piece of webbing- it is rather long and not adjustable at all. The calf strap itself is a 3/4 inch piece of stretchy elastic with a velcro closure. It tightens around the upper calf, but when given the weight of the gun to hold up, it just stretches further, allowing the holster to slide down.

All-in-all, I got a working ankle holster for a cheap price, just not one that works well. I think I wouldn't mind ankle carry if I had a holster that stayed secured to my leg instead of shaking loose. I think I might get out the sewing machine and try to make some modifications to the Ace Case.

I don't have anything against ankle holsters. I've just never found one that worked well enough or was reliable enough to be comfortable with in any continuing, serious, out-and-about concealed carry situation.

I just wanted to chime in to lend an endorsement to Kirkpatrick Leather. I picked up one of Kirkpatrick's Mini Clip holsters (http://www.kirkpatrickleather.com/product/h_mclip.htm) and it is fantastic! I was looking for an IWB I could remove quickly (without belt clips, snaps, or loops), and the Mini Clip works great. I can place in my waistband and remove quickly, and it rides comfortably at my seven o'clock (lefty).

Definitely the best holster I have used for my PPK/s
