Some say these fit in nicely with a little sticking out, and some say they don't work as well. Can anyone elaborate?

I kinda lost track of all the versions of the Canik 55 TP9. The early, 18 round TP9 mags would absolutely fit perfectly into a PPQ M2....and the early magazine baseplate also fit the PPQ like it was made for it.

Somewhere along the line, they changed a few things. I suspect they made the pistol grip/magwell a little longer, requiring a modification to the original magazine baseplate design. The later models (don't ask me which one, as I have the originals) as I understand it, will still insert and lock into place in a PPQ M2, but the baseplate will not be flush with the bottom of the pistol grip....in other words, it'll be hanging out a little. Which brings up the real problem of being able to over insert the mags, with NOTHING to stop the over insertion except the EJECTOR.......that's not good either.

Does all that make any sense?

Here's one of the original TP9 mags inserted in one of my PPQ's. Notice how the baseplate fits nicely up against the bottom of the grip?

This is the same Canik 55 TP9 18 round magazine with factory baseplate removed and replaced with a Mc-Gar Plus-2 baseplate. I just need to make a sleeve to slide down the mag body to take up the empty space and provide a 'positive' stop....to eliminate 'over insertion'.

And, here's the sleeve.

Hey, the early bird gets the worm. The links were good yesterday....showed 'in stock'. Even just awhile ago, the prepper site showed to have '3'.....now, ALL Gone. Hey, I did my part.

The 5 incher (above) sports a Jarvis 5" ported barrel.

Check THIS puppy out. Forty on the left and a 9 on the right....both with Jarvis barrels, the 40 is extended and ported and the 9 is extended, threaded with a compensator. Apex triggers, Dawson FO front sights and Turul rear sights.

^^^^That's the mag for the TP9SA (so is the 20 rounder)......those will hang out the bottom of a PPQ. Its the original, with the plus 2 looking base plate that fits the PPQ's perfectly.....and its the originals that are getting REALLY hard to find. After I posted the link, those puppies sold out in a matter of hours. Just like the Prepper site yesterday...I posted that they still had three mags.....40 minutes later, ALL gone. These are great mags...I've got quite a few...modified em' to latch into my PPQ M1's, and with proper hole placement, they run in both M1 and M2's.

Yes I already have several of the 20 round mags they have listed, and the only problem that I ever had with any of them is a couple of them would not lock the slide after the last round, but that was just an adjustment, since the adjustment they have worked 100%. The 20 round mags that I have are made by Meg-Gar which make some of the best magazines IMO, I ordered several of the 18 round mags earlier today, if they are made by Meg-Gar which I believe they are I am sure they will function at 100% also.:)

Observation

So I used to have a Canik and sold it, but before I did i purchased 3 sa magazines, 2 18 rounders and a 20. The 18 rounders would lock back the slide but not as positively as the factory mag, the 20 is sloppy and will barely lock it back and usually did not on the last round when fired.
However, to try an experiment i dropped the ppq follower into the tp9 sa 18 round magazine and what do you know, same positive locking back of the slide as the factory. The difference appears to be just a small amount of space on the side of the magazine where a small piece of plastic is protruding. I will be at the range soon to test out the SA mag with the walther follower I believe it will function the same as original PPQ mag.
