as everyone knows, the HK P2000 beat out the P99 DA for the German Police trials. does anyone know why? if the 99 DA shoots as well as a regular P99 it should have been very competitive, and i can't imagine HK winning out on price unless they are significantly cheaper in Germany than they are in the US. thanks.

i'm assuming that the lack of response means that the results (other than who the winner was) were not announced.

That would be my guess. I searched the net a while back for info on that test but found nothing. If you do happen across that info, be sure to post back here and let us know. I'm sure I'm not the only other person interested in it.

If it's like most governmental procurements, politics are more of a factor than quality of the products.
H&K probably "greased the wheels" a bit better than Walther.
