Not saying like every single time, but I enjoy trying for something a bit harder and I'm usually successful; granted, unscoped with no dot and only iron on a PPQ M2 at 50 yards and it's not moving lol, so wouldn't really translate well to real life. I was just curious if anyone else did.

Great question Ronnie Richard (you suck by the way ;)), I do 3 types:
  • relaxed slow accuracy single shots starting at 7 with my 2 EDC and up to 25 (Q5SF only) to get into it for a while, 2 hands, left hand, right hand.
  • mag 5 shots rapid as fast as possible but accuracy at SD distance 5&7yrds (TPH) and 7&10 (PPK)
  • draw EDC PPK from holster at 7 yards and using 2 spare mag changes fast but controlled every mag a different diamond on the target.
  • plink at will with other stuff just to enjoy
about 30-45 minutes.

I dont think body parts………if the time for self defense comes and hopefully it will never as a citizen I know I can control and get my ammo to go exactly where it needs to go……where that is will be depending on the situation then. I just want to break contact and run.

as you can read I have no clue what I am doing…seriously! But I am learning……love it…any feedback welcome.

The more in the head, the better. Make them stop immediately. Hitting the heart or center of mass can still allow the perp to press a trigger and keep killing for many seconds. A center head shot can make them drop right now and stop being a threat.

Two to the body and one to the head, at least! That's how we trained!

Lol I don't suck I'm a very friendly person that loves Walthers. But yeah I agree, it's not practical at all, I was just wondering if anyone else just did it for the lulz (you can now tell me I suck since I used lulz) lol

Good call, So basically don't shoot for the vital only (vital as in you stop moving immediately after being hit), train with a mixture. What's your maneuver called, Mozambique right? I loved how Titanfall 2 (most underrated FPS every in history btw), had a gun called the Mozambique that shot all three bullets at once in their correct positions, it's a midrange-close weapon, but if you see it being fired from a standstill you'll see what I mean.....now thinking if this would be possible with a red dot or ACOG for the top shot and the two bottom shots line up automatically based on that (OMINOUSARMS EXCLUSIVE COMING YOUR WAY!):

With all the real estate on these targets, why limit yourself to center mass body shots? Are those the only kind of shots that will neutralize a bad guy? Newp. With a target as large as a silhouette it only makes sense to pick and choose where to shoot...left eye, neck, forehead, left shoulder, right shoulder, each number, the circumference of each circle, etc.

And I'm sorry, but I hesitate to believe that you shot that group above at 50 yards with a handgun and iron sights.

I only use a 6" paper plate, 3X5 card, 3X3 Post-it, and a 1.5"X2" neon post-it stapled to the backer board at 7 yards for 90% of my range training. The cost of ammo forced me to focus my range work of self-defense skills with my CCWs.

My training drills vary depending on my mood and/or what I feel I need to revisit to keep my skills up to my standard. I like the Range Work at pistol-training dot com to develop challenges for me.

I do enjoy ringing the steel targets from 10 yards out to 25 yards with the remaining 10%.

I avoid shooting torso targets when possible. My primary reasoning is that I subscribe to the shooting theory of Aim-Small, Miss-Small, which does not lend itself to shooting massive targets. My thinking is that if I am proficient at hitting tiny things, then the larger things become easier to hit... Even under stress.

I'm not much for silouhette targets. I prefer to shoot smaller 6, 8 or 12 inch circular bullseye targets.

I usually prefer the 8" reactive targets and most commonly shoot my pistols at 5-15 yards.

My view is that if I can't hit the 8" target then I'm not reliably making hits, especially under pressure.

What's going to make it less believable is it was my first time shooting a silhouette in an indoor range, I usually pick the boards with multiple targets. I was mistaken on the gun, I wrote it on the back and put the date, it was my Taurus G3C, trust me I Didn't believe it either, which is why I kept it. I had no dot or anything on it. Just lined it up and shot. No chance on earth I'd be able to do it again (the one behind it is the first time my Mom ever fired a pistol).

Looks like a 3-4"~ group (with a few flyers) at 50 yards... with a compact Taurus?

I'm incredulous...50 feet? Sure. Especially on a good day with a little luck. But 50 yards? I don't even know that many indoor ranges with a 50 yard range and the ones that do usually limit the longer stalls to long guns.

Was this shot from a bench rest or free hand?

I was surprised at how long it was but yeah the max was 50 and all the stalls are the same length, you can tell they dropped some serious cash on it its a really nice place and they allow you to film too (which if I had known it was going to happen I would have been :( ). You can hear the little ZWRRRRRRRRRRR and watch it disappear off into the distance. I was just doing it for a gag because I didn't think I'd hit anything at all, much less get a grouping, I have shot that gun a lot and practice bringing it back to the same position all the time since I carry it quite a bit. Ill even unload it and aim at a doorknob or something and fling it to the side and try to get it back in the same spot without actually aiming (I don't know if that actually helps its just something I do), and no benchrest it was freehand. Again I'm not saying I'd ever be able to do it again, it was just a one in a million fluke I guess because I can't even do that at 10-20 yards.
