What happened to Val? I heard he can't sell Walther's anymore. Why is that?

I believe that he had some legal troubles with some Class III items, and had a little run in with the Feds. So I don't think Val can handle firearms anymore.
This is what i've heard through the grapevine, maybe someone else can elaborate.
