Yep. Could be an interim though.

It also has the short mag release.

Also note the accessory rail on the frame is 04+... Short mag release was an 04 item. I think they went long in 05.

-'03 closed rail, short mag release, and slide serrations were small
'04 open rail, short mag release, wide spaced slide serrations
'05- open rail, long mag release, wide spaced slide serrations

besides that the slide and frame don't match up, I also wonder if it is a original QPQ top or hard chromed top ??
the way I read it, it sounds like this is a original P99 with 200 rounds no changes made...could this be a oddball ??

here is a pic of two '04 models (P99 and P99c)

One way to find out... ask for a pic of the other side of the pistol and the rear for the serial. :D

If the german proof marks are chromed over, that would be telling on QPQ vs. HC.

If the number on the frame doesn't match the number on the slide and barrel...

Here's a REAL wildcard... what if his 03- frame was so jacked up S&W replaced it with a 04+ frame "by customer request" or just what they had in inventory? I dunno... this one is an odd ball. :)
