What a month for Grail guns...

When I found my .22 PPK in the LGS I knew it was an omen. A week and a half later when I came across a C96 I thought WOW how lucky can you get. Look at what I bought in a parking lot today. It's 1 owner and so pristine the test target has never been unfolded. I still can't believe I scored all of the top 3 on my Grail Gun list in just a few weeks.

BTW this gun was no bargain but it wasn't for lack of trying. I am a very good negotiator and am used to getting great prices on great guns. The seller wouldn't budge and said he had another guy waiting for me to pass. I even tried the "All I have is $XXXX cash on me so can you knock off a hundred?" play. He countered perfectly with "Since you know SoNSo you can give me the extra $100 later." In the end I ended up paying a premium (not a DUA premium;) ) but I'm thrilled to finally have one.

I'll post pics when I have a chance. BTW a Nambu 14 is now #1 on my list. I would have said a WWII 1911 but I am still counting on the CMP to scratch that itch.

Very nice! Looks like it’s in pristine condition
Nice, a PSP (heel release). The P7 that started it all.

Congrats.

It happened in "threes" for me too. The NIB (safe deposit box) HK P7 M13, NIB P88 Compact, and delivery of the P5 Lang Unicorn (a 6 month process).
I'm very jealous. Nice find!
I've been wanting to take this pic for a looong time.:D

The 5/6/7 trifecta, AWESOME!
Jimbo, we won't drag you to a dark basement and shine a light in your eyes regarding price...but I saw one on Gun(makes you)broker for $3500, and it didn't look as nice as yours. They are a great piece; congrats and enjoy.
What I hate about scoring a gun that I really wanted is that another one, immediately, will catch me, how you say, broke. :)

Way too cool. My favorite local gun store recently had an HK P7M13, but I missed out because I was on a trip. It went for $1,800.

My recent acquisitions are an original, first year (1996) production Ruger Police Carbine (pictures from article posted below), an early (1986) production Beretta 21A Bobcat with original box and manual, an exceptional example of a Mosin-Nagant M44 Carbine (1944) with one of the smoothest bolts I've ever manipulated (which is saying a lot for a Mosin), a Mosin-Nagant 91/30 (1943) with serial-matching bayonet (but force-matched on the magazine, unfortunately), and a Mosin-Nagant 91/30 (1938) with matching serial numbers throughout. I also picked up yet another lightly used P99 AS (2017).

But your recent snags make mine look paltry in comparison.

Anyway, here are some of those PC9 photos:

UE, your collection is nothing if not eclectic! A late buddy willed me a Garand and a O'-6, but I'm glad to not try to store too many longarms.
BTW, any interest in Japanese rifles? I ask because, at a recent GunShow, there were (expensive) rotted, cracked and bug-chewed Jap stocks; apparently clean examples of the rifles or stocks are pretty rare.
BTW, $1800 for a double stack H&K sounds like a deal; I thot' they commanded more money than the single stack.

Not much interest in long guns, and definitely no interest in WWII-era Japanese rifles. I do however have a soft spot for the W+F Bern K31. I’d love to pick up a couple more of those, especially if I can find a good condition walnut stock example with original troop tag. I also wouldn’t say no to an original M1 Carbine if the price and condition were right.

Now is a good time for a carbine. I've seen a few nice examples around lately at sub $1K prices.

Very nice

I love the P7...

STUNNING!!!

I purchased a 95% condition P7M13 3 months ago (to complete my P5/P6/P7 collection). Liked the design and how it shot so much (dynamics & accuracy), I added a +99% safe queen to the collection a few weeks later.

My two sons and I put over 300rds thru the shooter P7M13 two weeks ago, all three of us have a "new" favorite handgun.
