It's down once more. Interesting is the fact that the web hosting of Umarex USA is provided by a company named Rackspace (Rackspace: Managed Dedicated & Cloud Computing Services) whereas Walther Arms chose the offering from Siteground (https://www.siteground.com) where the hosting plans start at $2.40/month.

 

I should have been more clear. I knew it was down for everyone, but I was more wondering if "we" the community knew why and if it was permanent.

 

I sincerely doubt it's permanent. Could be down for maintenance, loading new pages (the new PPK and PPK/S in .380, perhaps?), or maybe even a server failure.

I'm pretty sure that tomorrow the site still will show the allegedly mock-up of the gun instead of the more recent photo shown on their Facebook site. A server failure is the best guess.

 

Just an aside, an acquaintance of mine works for Rackspace.

Very good IT company that goes out of it's way to hire veterans, and is actually one of the best in it's field.

As to the Walther website, probably just a crash or maintenance.

 

Could be from all the complaints from CCP owners.

 

The server couldn't be fixed until spare parts arrived from Germany.
