My Ranger .25 F000400 didn't have a box or target so while I would like to know the age I probably never will.

Don't recall as I ever registered my serial number T026795 ,test fire date August 9,1991 by MS at 15 meters and he was a piss poor shot one in the black in the first ring and the others missed the target area ,3 shots maybe he was having a bad day . Box ,target, instruction manual ,sticker on end of box in excellent shape ,just a little fuzz at the edge , must have been a safe Queen . She's not now, resides in my right front pocket in a holster if I have clothes on. Ayb

T = Stainless Steel (.22lr)
H = Blued
F = .25 ACP

As far as I know the TPH was discontinued in 2000. I'll add to this as I come across more.
US prefixes-

T= .22 stainless
H= .22 blued
F= .25 stainless
G= .25 blued
Now that I've taken possession of an incomplete TPH frame...

My frame (F, so, a .25 stainless) is stamped F001311. My question is, did they restart numbering with new finishes, or should I expect that this frame dates back to pre-'88?

If they did re-start, then my next question is when did they start the stainless .25 in the US?

On the previous page, there are two TPH numbers which may help. T000727 had a target dated 2/17/87; T003649 had a date of 10/87.

The NRA Museum Dope Bag had an article on the TPH pistols, in which the US production indicated that in 1989, the pistols had been in production for a "year or so" which is not terribly helpful - I haven't found the date when production began in the US, but given the serial numbers above it's reasonable to assume production began in late 1986 or early 1987. Your serial number seems to be the earliest one recorded on this site, though I admit I only looked for about 15 minutes.

BTW, the NRA article stated erroneously that only the .22 cal version of the pistol was produced in the US, which is not true; I have a .25 caliber example, in stainless steel. I've never seen a US production 25 cal TPH in blue steel, but apparently a serial number prefix exists for such a series.
