Well, 2,434 other people have a different opinion. When I started the PPQ FB group I had NO idea it would get as big as it is now. Thanks to all here who are also there, means a lot.

This forum is my most active one out of 6 or 7, and the PPQ group is also by far the busiest of the ones I'm in.

As far as I'm concerned, the two are mutually inclusive. Thanks again...we're all here because of the same thing....love for things Walther in general, and the PPQ in particular. Be safe. :)

Big Walther fan. But very private about my opinion on all things political including firearms. Am interested in the closed PPQ FB group. But how private is it really?

I look at those places as information sources and keep postings to an absolute minimum. And never post a picture of anything I own.

And if you read the Terms of Service, NOTHING you put up there is private.

Anything online has the potential to be hacked, spied on, or whatever. I suppose some get a false sense of security by going to some sites with only a username and a bogus avatar if one at all. I'm not part of that group (yet) but I am on fb and a few other places. I've also been able to find a few forum members very easily online in other places too. It is what it is unless you're totally off the grid but that may not keep you hidden either.

I find it rather ironic that people blur out their gun's serial when the FedGov has that info and more.

Of course FB isn't secure.....nothing man-made is.

To update, you might be interested to know that employees from Walther USA are in fact watching this FB Walther group.

I received the following message this morning;
"Hi Anthony! My name is Vince. I work at Walther Arms in Fort Smith Arkansas. We saw your post about the your PPQ. Thanks a ton for choosing Walther.

I responded saying I love my PPQ so far and that I had picked up a few shirts from their store... His Response:
"We do appreciate it! If you want to pick out a couple hats to go with those shirts and I'll send them to you."

I asked for some more shirts or keychains since I don't wear hats, but an awesome gesture nonetheless. I'll report back when I receive my free goodies. :D

See, and I had to PAY for my hat and hoodie AND for shipping. On the other hand, I don't have to beg for them on facebook ;)

I PAID for a set of shirts last week before they ever contacted me... I guess that part wasn't clear.

Call me crazy, but if a company is proactive enough to reach out and thank customers for their purchase, I'm more than happy to accept freebies to promote them.

I posted an image on the Walther FB page and they sent me this:

Walther in the past has been extremely generous with goodies for the Walther Forums Greet and Shoots sending gun mats and hats to be given to attendees.....

Things like that are easy to do and the good will generated far exceeds the cost.
