I saw someone's brand new P99 in .40 S&W going full-auto on a couple of occasions yesterday - impressive cyclic rate. This was the second time the gun has been used and nothing had been done to the gun's internals. Is this a known problem with P99s?
I'm betting that it is a shooter induced problem, due to the P99's extremely short trigger reset distance. I've seen new shooters with poor shooting mechanics, inadvertantly fire off a 3 round burst with a P99.
If its an experienced shooter, then i'd have the P99 looked at by an armorer, otherwise the owner is in violation of ATF laws, for an illegal full auto.
