We all received an email from Robert, the Forum administrator, reluctantly asking for contributions to help keep this forum going. He has generously shoulder the financial burden for this operation up until now and he has asked for help to renew the domain registration and continue to pay for the bandwidth.
What he didn't emphasize in his email is that the lease on the domain expires on Friday, 15 July!! There is currently no funding available to pay the fees to lease the names for another 3 years...so as of midnight on Friday, this forum will cease to exist!!
If you are interested in keeping this forum active, I'd urge you to consider a contribution to help keep it alive. You can make a contribution through PayPal to [email protected] Consider how much you use this forum and value the information you find here, and donate according to your conscience. I know many of you were already considering it and would "get around to it" -- but I don't think any of us was aware of how soon we might lose this excellent resource!
Robert did not ask me to make this post. (In fact, he may remove it after he reads it!) But I felt it was important enough to make sure that everyone was aware of the real urgency. Apparently he's held out as long as he could, looking for alternatives to soliciting donations. He's done his part -- now I think it's our turn to help out.
Thanks!
Jim
