Hi Guys,

New to this forum and have a question. I purchased a p99 back in May of 2001. I am currently short on cash and need to sell my Walther. Would like to know what I should expect to get for it, and where is the best place to sell it? It is an all black .40sw and according to the faq page, it is a SWalther as it has a serial of 46**** and no proofs. I understand this is not as desired as the German proofs. In fact, that really seems like Walther pulled a fast one with this. (If it is sold as a Walther and has "Made in Germany" on the frame, sold as a full firearm, it appears to be false advertising to me.) Well, it has been fired 240 times and the only wear is on the acc. rail from a fobus holster (excellent condition).

Any guidance would be appreciated.
Thanks, Michael

I would say $400-$425 at the most. Depends on how may Walther's P99s are in your area of trying to sell it.

This forum has a trading post where you can post it.  -While I have no experience with the trading post here, I have had a good experience with both, www.gunsamerica.com and www.gunbroker.com.  Guns Amrerica is a place where you set the price and wait for people to email offers.  Gun Broker is more of an auction site like ebay so you may get more money in a bid-off.  -By the way, if you can post a picture of the gun you'll get more responses.

-Whichever way you choose to sell the pistol, make sure the transfer is legal.  You don't want a bad transfer to come back and bite you in the ass.

Good luck
