For finish protection on Walther blue finish pistols, 4 or 5 coats of Trewax or
tough car wax REALLY works. The idea has been around for years. For
the outside finish only, it works. It has to be re-applied, but it beats surface rust on a carry gun-and it does'nt leave grease spots on clothing.

Stainless Walther owners can move to another topic.

I use Renaissance Wax on anything that'll be sitting in my safe for any length of time, which also includes any rare/collectible firearms. It's specifically formulated for antique preservation and museum conservation.

Ain't cheap, but good stuff. And a little goes a long, long way.

X 2 on the Renaissance wax. Use it on leather as well.
