I just received my replacement Recoil Spring/Guide Rod Assembly from Walrep (Smith and Wesson). It is a standard Walther factory assembly for the 9mm.
I have ~2000+ rnds though my P99, and the original guide rod is very chewed up. Could be all the +P 124gr stuff, but I also shoot a bit of 115gr, 124gr non +P.

Anyone else noticed a lot of wear on their guide rods?

My first guide rod was chewed up at 2k rounds, the next was a S&W steel rod, it lasted around 7k before the spring gave out and brass started flying 15', the last rod was another std. polymer rod, so far it's gone around 6k with no problems, it still looks new, and brass is still flying about 6' or so.
