Here it is... the FIRST (posted here ;) ) P99 Final Edition.

Picked this baby up today. Shout out to Tombstone Tactical for prompt shipping and a fair price and Ark Tactical for receiving the gun and getting it to me just an hour after FEDEX dropped it off.

The gun is... well, it's a P99! What is there to say other than: Best. Gun. Ever.

I have a collection of 99 series guns (family reunion below) P99 in 9mm x2, SW99 in 9mm, SW99 in 45, SW99C in 40SW, P99C 9mm x2 - so needless to say I'm a big fan of the platform.

Proud to report that the P99 challenge coin is both thicker AND longer than the SIG Legion coins... we all knew who was really packing ;)

Disappointed that they didn't do a test target for these guns. I know that hasn't been a thing for ahwhile... but come on Walther

Haven't shot it yet... and not sure if I will. Another P99 in a different color isn't going to exactly blow my mind away... still, it's always good to spend time with an old friend.

Nice. I ordered one and it will be at my FFL next week.
It will go well with my other P99's.

I wonder if the first two letters of the serial number were done on purpose, with the "FE*****" standing for "Final Edition".

That's an interesting observation/thought! The last PDP I bought a month or two ago has a serial number FDW*****. So maybe they planned to use "FE" with Final Edition or maybe it was just coincidence.
I asked a phone representative about the backstrap. (Chris was his name, maybe?)

They claimed that the all olive drab gun pictured doesn't actually have a backstrap at all. Claims it was fully injection/molded as part of the frame for the 'prototype' guns pictured - and no OD backstraps exist.
If you look at it, that's exactly right. It's not rubber in your blown up picture.

Pure collectable stand point, I wonder if this is like the collectable Star Wars cards. Don't pretend you don't know about them. Originally started with black order limited edition sets and then white boarder non limited edition came out long time after...and it turned out the white border are more valuable.

I wonder if the black non Final Edition P99 will command more value in the future than the green limited Limited Edition...

You are a lucky dog. Just got this in the e mail P99 AS FINAL EDITION – www.waltherarms.com
Notice how the back strap in the main picture is green?

I wish that's the way they came.

Congrats!
I’ll probably not commit to buying one until they are all sold and the prices get jacked up. I ought to commit since ive got a titanium p99 in 9mm, p99c in .40, mr9 4.5”, sw99 in .45. Just need a second gen p99 in 9mm. This should be the one to round out my p99, im pretty obligated afterall.

That is exciting, I just snagged one off Gun Broker. I want to shoot it but I'm not sure if I will.

So the thing about these guns... they've already been fired. You can see the brass marks on the gun already.

IMO I'd put a a box of ammo through it. What good is a gun that you can't shoot? P99's are cool but they aren't THAT pretty.

That said here's the full disclosure: I haven't shot mine yet :ROFLMAO: and while I may shoot it the thing will never be 'a shooter' or carry gun for me. Safe Queen all the way with some novelty shooting here and there, perhaps. I think I'd like to shoot it just to know that the thing actually works.

If it's going to be a hardcore collector item and you care about resale value... well, shooting it wouldn't be best... but who is going to know? ;)
Very nice score!

I’m just hoping to find another regular model full size P99 AS, let alone the Final Edition model! I can’t find any model in stock anywhere.

Right, that’s why my whole collection is NIB, only factory fired.
Here is nine beauty.

Nice! Not only does it look unfired, I don't think anyone has even worked the slide on it. :ROFLMAO:

I got lucky finding a CC date coded P99 AS recently. My LGS had one towards the back of a bottom display shelf where it lingered unnoticed until I asked about Walthers. He dug it out thinking it was a PPQ. To my delite, it was a P99 AS (9mm) and it went home with me. Have four 15 round mags now, but also want two ten round mags.

Looks great! I am not too keen on the OD Green frame, so I skipped this. I love the gun and the unique trigger system, it was my first handgun and sadly it was taken from me. After hearing they were discontinuing, started to look around for a new black one. I was fortunate enough to find one new at my local shop recently and grabbed it :)

Picked up my P99 AS two days ago. Paid $799 to a dealer in Louisiana. The dealer had two of them and sold the other while I was completing my purchase! I now have the P99 AS, a P99c AS, and a MR9 - all with the same AS and decocker mechanism. The P99c is a daily carrier when I feel the need, although the Magnum Research MR9 is the best looking of the three, and is the most accurate with the 4.5” barre.

You just need a sw99 especially in .45. For me and mine, this gun lets you be lazy and retains its accuracy. Though it has the worst trigger (my mr9 has the best (but has an issue)). Ive seen an unfired listed pretty cheap a couple years back. Im still kicking myself for not doubling up.
