It's probably bad form to discuss SW99 on the P99 forum. But I've been hearing really good things about the SW99 .45 pistol that should hit the streets soon. Anybody have any info? Will there be a P99 .45 (maybe not)?

thanks in advance,
pete

I fondled one at a local gunshow about 2 months ago.  I was disappointed, but not surprised, to find that the grip girth is substantially larger than my 9mm and .40 P99s.

Using Glocks as a size reference point -
The G17 is to the G21 as the P99 is to the SW99 .45.

From what I've heard, Walther has no plans to make a P99 in .45 ACP.

Darn. As scarry as it sounds, your above statement is a main reason why the new .45Glock caliber will find success. The vast majority of folks like standard sized pistols. The .45G will be like a .45ACP, minus the 230 grain load -- just a little more flexibility in a standard sized pistol. The jury is out. In fact the jury is on a long sabbatical as to whether other companies like Walther will even choose to support this strange new 2/3 .45. Heck, even Irv at Barsto is not interested in supporting the new .45glock caliber at this point. If a demand builds up, he will come.

I'm so confused. I'm afraid I'm addicted to new things. ;)

Shot the S&W9945 today. It is bigger in the grip frame, and overall size. Found the gun to be as accurate as a SIG220, with less muzzle flip then the SIG.I just wanted to chime in that the guns are out there for sale at dealers now.
