Has anyone used steel cased ammo in ther S&W manufactured PPK/S? I hear that it can be hard on extractors, but have not heard from anyone on other forums that has personally had an issues. I get alot of "a guy at my range", "I heard", or " a friend of my brothers friend" stories about broken extractors.

The reason I ask is that I found a good price on Braunal Brown Bear ammo in .380. It's Russian made, noncorrosive, JHP, steel cased. I wanted to see if the steel cases would be a problem in my PPK/S before I ordered 500 rounds of it.

I use steel case ammo in my Ruger Mini-30 (7.62x39). I don't think it actually breaks extractors but it probably does cause more wear on the extractor than the soft brass cases do. I doubt that it would be a problem unless you shoot thousands of rounds. I haven't had any problems so far.
