1. Are your magazines marked "Walther/Mec-Gar"?

2. If not, how are they marked?

3. If so, why do yours only hold 15 rounds?

vertriebkaehny is the party we are talking to about the group 9mm mag purchase.  From the photos on gunbroker.com they appear to be 16 round mags.  I asked him via email for the patent number to be sure.

Yes.  Except for the scratches, they look just like my non-Turkish 16-rounders.

These are for the turkish army. They use 15 round mags.
The difference is the spring. If you chance the spring, it fits for 16 rounds.
The pat no. is:  5.386.657.

I'm still a bit confused -

I have four magazines that were originally intended for Turkey. They have witness holes #8 & #12 on the left side and #5, #10 & #15 on the right.

The above picture shows hole #16 on the left side...why?

Dont want to burst bubbles but I believe the $$ limit on non Form 6 imports is $100 WHOLESALE U.S. PER PERSON PER SALE. Everyone would have to have their mags shipped and paid for seperatley. I figure since is says wholesale youcould get 3 mags per box without going over.

Someone wanna double check this?

Edited to say: As I understand it this should not effect barrel sales though, only mags.

Did you get these from Earl?  What is their patent number?

No, I got all of these from a seller on www.gunbroker.com.  His name is James E. Tix ([email protected]) out of Texas.  

Two of the six are exactly the same as what Earl sells, i.e., marked with the 16th witness hole and have a capacity of 16 rounds of 9mms.

Four of the six are exactly the same as above except there is no 16th witness hole, but they do have a capacity of 16 rounds of 9mms. (These are the ones frequently referred to as "Turkish magazines").

All six are identical (except as noted, above) and have the Walther P99 and Mec-Gar markings. All six show "PATENT 5.386.657".

It really takes a keen eye to tell the difference in these magazines.  

IIRC, I paid approx. $80 each.

Something doesn't add up here. How is Earl able to legally import and sell mags with patent numbers issued in 1995?
