For a P99 AS date coded AC, would be interested in any thoughts or opinions as to if this particular model variation is a sample of some of the better P99 models with regards to workmanship and reliability and also whether will likely lose value / maintain value / increase in value over time relative to other P99 variations. Thanks.

Many folk here think that the 03 model is the better looking of the two styles.

If you have no desire for a "useful" tactical rail, then you'd be well served by an 02 P99 AS. I believe if you're looking at 40 cal, Walther was not yet having problems with it's 40 magazine baseplates.

I don't know that your P99 would increase in value, but since it would be an AS, I would hope that it would be more desireable than other variants like the P990 and the P99 QA.

Bottom line, if you've got a P99 lined up to buy, you should buy it! You won't be sorry!
