Ran about 500 rounds through it today....a most excellent sidearm.

Only 1 failure to eject, which I blame on the ammo. That round sounded weaker than the others. Other than that, IMO, the best feeling, most managable, most accurate comabt gun I have shot, and I own Sigs and a HK P7M8.

Now I do not classify the P7 a combat pistol. The fact that it needs FMJ only, no lead, because of the delayed gas system, precludes it from that list.


I shot off-hand, concealed draw, and from a rest. A 10 shot group with Federal 115 FMJ measured 1.5 inches across at 15 yards for the rest.

It really likes 124gr Hydra-Shoks. A 5 round group measured at just under a inch at 10 yards.

Combat, with reloads, was great, all in center on a IPSC target and even great groups with the double tap in the chest and one to the head.

One problem was a mag that was really hard to load on the tenth round and was hard to insert. Went by the dealer and talked to their Walther guy. He agreed that there was something wrong and exchanged the mag for a new one.

So far, it's a keeper. Now I can carry it with confidance after the trip.

No offense, but I think you could find more than a few people to disagree with you here. I won't get into a flame war witcha, but my P7s (all of them) shoot everything I feed it and they are the only pistols I can shoot better than my P99s. No lead bullets yes, but than again, I don't feed any of my fine handguns lead bullets.

Hey none taken...we all can have our opinions....I have no argument about the P7. A fine gun indeed. I know, I have a M8 and had a M13. It is by far the most accurate, factory built, non-custom handgun I have. Hands down.


But for me the P7 is a gun that is just not the "balloon goes up", head for the hills, combat handgun.

I'm not knocking the P7 at all. If I was I wouldn't own one. It's just not my first gun I would grab on the way out the door.

I by no means meant to insult anyone, it is again just my opinion...

And you're entitled to it. I hold the same rule as an old Marine "rules of combat" list went. Don't carry sidearm that whose caliber doesn't start with a 4.

My exception would be the .38/.357, that is a cartridge I'll play with at a later date... for now, I had my fun with them.
