Is there any benefit to using a bench rest to learn trigger control? This suggestion I overheard at the range. If there is a benefit how should I go about it?

Thanks,

It depends upon how you shoot from the rest. That is just one thing you are going to have to practice. And it is best to practice like you will actually shoot if the need arises. I doubt you will ever be shooting BG's from a rest....;)

But it can help with the intial sighting in phase and teach you how the trigger breaks...I always bench rest my pistols when I first get them just to see how the shoot POA. But I rarely use my actual grip. I just lightly touch of the trigger to registir my shots. Once I believe the pistol is shooting POA, I work from there and if there are any shifts in my shootings, I know it is not the pistol but me.
