I took my new P99 .40SW out for the first time. The first shots were really low and inconsistent at 50'. I change the front sight out to a number three. The smallest sight of the bunch. It was still shooting low. I brought the target in to 30' and took my time and noticed that I was jerking or anticipating the firing pin release.

I shoot must a USP Tactical in IDPA and Plates and I know exactly when the hammer will fall. My muscle memory was working against me. When I really took my time with the P99 it hit dead sent at 30'. So it's me not the pistol. The trigger defiantly takes getting use to.

Then again when I got my first P7M8 I took it to the range and noticed it was shooting 15 FEET to high at 30'. When I pulled back the squeeze cocker I did not realize it was a 1/2 pound trigger and bam it went off. I was shooting high for a while until I got use to it. Know it's my most accurate pistol.

I still like to get a set of adjustable metal sights. I don't like the plastic sights and I hate the plastic recoil rod.

I have to say I love the pistol.

Plastic recoil rod I guess is fine, but I just don't like it. Same with the plastic sights. I will be replacing the sights with night sights and I am on a search for a metal recoil rod now. I know they made some, somebody has to have one.
