I picked up a S&W 99c (factory mad) 10-round mag (new) for my P99c 9mm. I noticed that unlike the Walther P99c 10 rounder, the S&W has an ivory colored follower instead of the Walther blue and the contour is of the S&W follower is just a little different. Otherwise, they appear the same. Should it work ok in my Walther P99c? Thanks

I can see I am going to have to become a $ supporting member so I can edit all my typos. Shameful (the typos not the $).

Is your p99 a 100% german made gun?

if its marked Smith and wesson on the slide, then its ok to use SW mags.... its too late anyway...

however if you have a NON-sw marked walther, DO NOT use any smith and wesson products on it.....

it will infect your p99 with a sexually transmitted disease and it will hurt everytime you shoot it..... it will develop a permanant rash that itches constantly.... it will also begin experimenting with illegal drugs and take on uncouth habits.....
I know everyone is doing it, but if everyone jumps off a bridge, would you?

remember.... when it comes to smith and wesoon on your Walther JUST SAY NO!

I must have missed your caveat below. I just left the emergency room. They've given me 30 days and suggest I get my affairs in order.

I've got one SW mag out of 9 and it just feels chintzy...dunno how everybody else feels about them, it works fine but I wouldn't trust my life with it...
All I use in mine are SW99 mags. They're both the same high quality mec-gar made magazine. The P99 mags have a reinforcing rib down the side and a better finish but I haven't found either of those to matter. Ymmv.

Guys
the reason why the P99 15 round mags have a ribb down on the sides and the SW99 16 round mags don't is simply due to the round count.....
Also take a look at the mag follower.
The 16 round Walther mags that used to be sold do not have this rib down on the side neither.
I agree on the finish though I never have seen a Walther 16 round mag in person... so I can't say its finish is better or worse then the SW99 mags

I have several S&W mags for my P99c and they are just fine. Walther P99c mags were hard to find for a while (may still be) and the SW were plentiful and inexpensive from CDNN. I've put Walther pinky extensions on all of them, so I suppose technically they are now hybrids.

MecGar doesn't make crap, at least not in my experience.
