I recently purchased a P99 OD 40 cal. I've shot it three times and everything is wonderful except I noticed that the barrel and the slide seem to be rubbing. Where the serial number is on the barrel the first two numbers are almost scratched so bad that it's hard to read. Is this normal? Also where the casings are ejected on the slide it seems that some of the finish is coming off.

Welcome to the board fiber0pti,
I have a 9mm P99 with about 800 rounds through it. The wear on the slide from the ejected cases is normal, especially on the extractor itself.

The wear that you are having on the barrel with the serial numbers might be worth looking into. My serial numbers are still very clear. I have some wear on the finish on the edges and angles of the barrel hood though, and that is normal. If you can, take a pic and post it.

I will try and post a picture by tomorrow night. Thanks for the quick reply.
