I’ve done initial research on this forum, but was unable to find an answer……

Were RFV PP’s stamped on only one side of the grip tang (I.e. front vs. back)? I’ve seen both recently: WWII WALTHER PP 7.65mm .32 AUTO with bring back paper dated 1946 - Semi Auto Pistols at GunBroker.com : 932722767

Later R.F.V. PPs had the inventory number on the rear of the grip. Be careful! This 1940 PP has a Crown/N slide and an Eagle/N frame.
