Hey, I'm new to this site, and wanted to know how well the .40 cal p99 s&w shoots reloads. what type of brass is the best to shoot. I currentley use hodgdons International clays powder for skeet reloading, and wanted to use the same powder for the .40 cal reloads. Any insight would help on this matter before I make this new purchase.

hawkeye,

I use LaserCast 170 SWC bullets with 4.5gr of Hodgedon Titegroup. I've had great accuracy with this combo out of my .40 P99's. I use to use International Clays until I started hearing about some kB's using this powder in other .40's. I think the pressure ratings are higher using this powder, if I remember right, thus the kB's.

I would stay away from PMC brass. It seems to have a reputation for kB's also. I use startline, winchester, and federal brass. Watch the case head area for excessive buldging. If it looks bad, it probably is and should be thrown out.
