If it was indeed refinished, then that kind of price makes no sense at all.
Over the years, I've kept an eye open for a US&S 1911; my old man was an Irish kid from Swissvale.
Saw one at a show for less than crazy money, but the vendor freely admitted it was a mixmaster.

ETA- Reviewed the pictures; that looks mighty shiny for a GI gun...was that the usual standard of finish for Singers?

If I recall correctly the Singers did, indeed, have a high-gloss blue finish. That said, to maintain it in mint condition for this long would be a feat.
