Hello,

First time post from a new member ......

I am going to be getting a P99 from Earl's this week.  I really like the way the QPQ looks (not that I don't like the way the standard P99 looks), and am wondering if there is any reason why I should NOT consider the QPQ?

Is is as durable as the standard Tenifer coating?

Thanks in advance .....

I would think long and hard before getting the QPQ finished P99.

It's my understanding that the QPQ finish was discontinued by Walther a few months ago and replaced by the TITANIUM COATED slides.  I've heard that the QPQ finish picks up and shows blemishes more easily than the others.

I Have a QPQ 9mm 99 and have carried ans shot it quite a bit.

The finish is usless, Mine is rusting on the right rear of the slide, and is discolored. Eventually I will get it refinished with something that works. Walther changed finishes for a reason and I bet rust was one of them.

My tenifer (?) Black 40 QA exhibits none of these problems.
