Hey guys,

I picked up my first Walther a couple of days ago, and am completely in love with the gun (despite having not shot it yet, which I expect to go extremely well). It's a PPX M1 9mm.

Anybody know where I can find a left handed holster (of any kind) for this gun? Ideally outside the waist band, but I'm open to anything at all at this point. I have done extensive searching online and haven't found anything.

Thanks

I would check with holster sponsors for this site. At least three of them offer left handed holsters for the PPX. They have banners that rotate up top and off to the side. Plus, there is a section for each one at the bottom of the main forum page.

Good call, thanks. I actually just did that. I saw a banner for Alien Gear up top, which I've never heard of, and they do have a left-handed model, hallelujah! : ) I'm curious if there are other options, though, before I jump in and order one. And I'm going to do a little more research about Alien Gear reviews first.

Thanks for the advice.

Thanks. I ordered a few Uncle Mike's sidekicks and Bulldog Holsters to try too figuring I'll send back the ones I don't like. They're universal holsters based on barrel size, but if it fits it will work. Plus I like them because they have a magazine pouch on the outside. However, I'd still really like to find a good retention holster and/or speed holster. I'll check those guys out. Thanks.

I have a .40 S&W Walther PPX, and I, too, am left-handed. When I purchased the weapon, I was privy to a "reward" of sorts, where, for the S & H cost of $9.95 I received a holster, extra mag, two-mag holster, and a couple of tools to assist in take-down. I noted when I requested the items that I was left-handed, but, evidently Walther did not contract for manufacture of other than right-handed models, as I received a right-handed model. I am capable of using my firearms right-handed, but am not used to doing so, and, as everyone knows, quick-thinking is often of the essence when putting a weapon into play. I, too, would like to have info on the purchase of a suitable left-handed holster of any type (but would especially like to find a "small of back" model). I probably won't be carrying the PPX often, as I prefer a 9mm for "casual" carry, and have more than one.

Blackdog Concealment OWB Holster. Awesome company run by an awesome guy. He ships within a few days as well. I think he shipped mine next day. Very reasonable prices as well, and the quality is excellent.
Here's a little something...
use fsapril at checkout for free shipping. Whole month of April.

I'm a lefty myself, and get most all my holsters from www.desantisgunleather.com they have a nice variety of styles to choose from, their quality is top notch. there is another company that also sells holster at a reasonable price, and that's www.theholsterstore.com check these out, just enter the make and model of your gun and the click on selection, I have two more holsters coming from them now for my PPQ M2 and a HK VP9....

I've been using an Aegis Shield Hybrid as my CC holster for my PPQ M1 for close to a year now and I absolutely love the thing. Bought one for my son to carry his PPS and he loves it as well. The folks there are great and bend over backwards to make sure you're happy.

I use an IWI retention for OWB in cool/cold months, and it's fabulous!

There are many great options available now days, these are just two to consider.

I recently bought the blackhawk and did the dress sock trick. works good. there's better holsters if you're looking for concealment, but if you're getting a holster just to have a holster (like me), the blackhawk works.

just for simple carry and range use, Blackhawk is cheap and works well. I'm left handed. Can't remember the number, but the holster was under 15 bucks. I carry a couple of different handguns. And Blackhawk has various sizes and shapes that are a good bang for the buck. If you look into one, they will sell one holster that fits several different types of handguns. I bought a pocket carry that works great for one of my walthers and a glock 42. A couple of days for fit and no problems.

Alien Gear does indeed make a great holster. Their OWB is a leather backed kydex shell hybrid. It's a sturdy holster and holds the PPX just fine. (I'm a lefty as well.) Alien Gear also has the wonderful feature of all of their backers being interchangeable with all of their shells. So you can buy new shells as you acquire new handguns and place them on the same backer without having to purchase all new holsters. You can also swap shells out if you get rid of a gun. It's a great way to cover your bases.
