PPS M2 8 w/8 Round vs Glock G48 Comparison with Pictures

Hi all, I'm not sure how many of you would be interested in this but my local range has free rentals on a G48 and since I wanted to try it out I thought it'd be a good idea to bring my PPS as well and try and compare the two and get some pictures. This was a bit spur of the moment and these aren't the best pictures but I hope it gives you some idea how the size of the two pistols are. I carry my PPS with an 8 round magazine in it so that's what I compared it to with the G48. I think the G48 might have felt a hair lighter, it's hard to tell without a scale. Both pistols shot great though the G48's trigger is definitely mushier feeling without a clean break like the PPS. Sights on the PPS are Trijicon HD night sights. G48 had the stock polymer 3 dot sights on it. Both shot very well. I shot about 2/3 of my 50 round box with the G48 and the other 1/3 with the PPS.

Looks like the overall dimensions still favor PPS. I would imagine the Glock is a hair lighter unloaded.
I wish I could get more comfortable carrying with the 8. I'm still mostly toting the 6 rounder for comfort.

Have you tried the 7 round mag its a good compromise and i use two 8’s as my carry reloads.

And the PPS is definitely smaller if you carry the smaller mags. I just never liked the grip on the 6 round and I never found the 8 round an issue at all to carry so I always just stuck with it.

It's not that I have a problem with the size of the PPS with the 8 round magazine. I actually like it's size just fine, I think it's perfect with the 8 rounder, fits my hand great. The 7 is good too but I never use it since I find the 8 no more difficult to carry, so, why not have the extra round? (I'd point out I carry the PPQ quite a lot as well so the PPS just vanishes for me.)

No this is a bit more of me realizing that for about the same size as what I already carry for smaller concealment, I could get two more rounds, that's all. That and I was a bit surprised how similar the dimensions were. My logic being if I like carrying the PPS the way I do I'll probably like the G48.

Yep. I have 3 seven rounders and they make it into rotation as primary or secondary.
The 6 rounder just works better for active days and a lot of windshield time.

I still like the flexibility of a smaller grip with a variety of mag choices. Glock seems to have squeezed +2 into these new "stack-and-a-half" magazines, so they would probably offer 8 rounds in the height that Walther and others offer 6.

Glock 48 with 8-round, short magazine, then extended options for 10 and even 12 would make it a much more flexible gun. As it stands, it's basically just a Glock 19 on a diet. Not to knock it -- I think it's a great gun and will sell very well -- just doesn't jive with my needs.

C'mon Walther -- wish list time -- make me a PPS M3 with the Shield RMS-C sight, the capacity and mag options of a P365, and the PPQ's trigger.

A guy can dream, right?

Oh -- and Internet enabled so I can say "Google, shoot that target."
