i have recently been given back a Bingham PPS/50 .22 LR after not seeing it for 30 years...am in the process of cleaning it because it was stored improperly in a saltwater situation and the barrel under the barrel cover has rust on it....how do i remove the barrel cover in order to clean both but mostly to get the rust off of the barrel

If you want to thoroughly clean your firearm, follow these steps to take apart:

1. Remove the stock (part 46) by unscrewing the screw (part 52) that holds it to the barrel cover.
2. Unscrew the two screws that hold the receiver (part 23) to the barrel cover (part 1) and pull out the receiver pin (part 24) . In this way you will be able to clean up all the receiver assembly with care.
