So I was thinking of getting an alien gear shapeshifter iwb but with the threaded barrel it does not look like it will fit. I’m thinking of drilling a hole in the bottom to accommodate the barrel. Has anyone done this and how did it work.

That'd be an easy modification. No reason why it wouldn't work.
