Hey guys,

I recently purchased my Walther PPQ M2 4' and I'm looking to buy a holster. I would like a left-handed, OWB, level 2 retention holster with a locking mechanism similar to 5.11's thumbdrive or another finger operated lever. Currently, I found a few that almost satisfy my wants.

I have looked at the IMI-Z1420 Holster; however, when reading the description, it only comes in a right-handed configuration.
I heard about the Blackhawk Serpa for the P99 also fitting the PPQ but after reading up on the possible accidental discharge, I lost complete interest.
I don't know if I should just settle for the Comp-Tac Thumb Break holster which just has a leather snap strap, but I figured I would ask your guys' advice first.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My 2 Cents

From my experience, the Safariland (73787TS) is the only Kydex-like holster that doesn’t scratch the gun finish. The SafariSeven finish is a nylon blend that seems to work well. Was not happy with what a Blackhawk Serpa did to another firearm I own, and immediately dumped it on Ebay for ½ price.

For what it’s worth I ran across this site this morning and they seem to have very nice well designed holsters and they have them available for the PPQ Series in their “Evolution” series. I am going to contact them tomorrow and see if these will work with my Q5.

In addition they seem to be less than $40.00 US.
