agree with Depenau, never seen a one slide stamped slide, perhaps a filler or first bath was used and upon drying polished and then a second coat BUT why is the intriguing question, why only one side……if you want to go all chrome…….unless the person got tired of the polishing…….and just dipped it…..enjoy and shoot the crap out of it………

Look carefully at the indicated area in the photo below...

You can see that the left side of the slide was heavily machined/polished down so far that the original roll marks were removed. Note the radius where the tool was stopped before getting into the serrations.

Shit yeah, nice eye ….that explains……would that affect the slide strenght, change of slide breaking? That looks like at least 0.5 mm!
