I had to renew my chl, so i went to class sat., then to the range. there were about 15 to 17 people, we were instructed to lay out our pistols locked open and cleared on a table. I couldnt help but to check out(look at) everyone pistols, several XDs, 2 sigmas, 92fs inox, m&p, G30, FN, bersa, a couple of others and then a ppk/s, mint, could have been new, i was impressed with it. well, i got lucky and was chosen as one of the 1st 4 to get to shot and knew i would get out soon. a older gent was the owner of the ppk/s and he also was chosen in the first group. at the 3yrd his ppk/s jammed every round, it might have fired twice without jamming once, maybe. the instructor has to stop and clear every jam. when we moved to the 7yrd the older gent went and got some different ammo, thank goodness, but the damn thing continued to jam every round, and we had to stop the course and the instructor had to clear. i was getting so pissed, this was ridiculous. it seemed to take forever to shoot 40 rounds. backed up to the 15yrd and the instructor lent the gent is loaner bersa, and after a few more minutes of instructions and familiarizing with it we continued and the bersa didnt miss a beat. i kinda felt sorry for the old fart that his walther got showed up by a bersa but I was fuming by now and cleared with the instructor and left. i have heard that pp's can be finicky but that was ridiculous. i cant believe a manufacturer would produce a product like that. i hope they are all not like that or anywhere close to that. by the way my G37 never missed a beat and the bulls-eye was gone on my target

I have a old Interarms PPK/S that will fire any brand of good ammo I want to shoot. I will not use reloads. I have used the russiam bear and it even worked. Might have been old man limp wristing or other factors. Don't blame the pistol . As fot the Bersa I have used mine to shoot CCW . it has over a 1000 rounds and out to 20yds will match my PPK for accuracy. They are not cheap guns The new CC is a great pocket pistol. I can be found at http://bersatalk.com when not out and about . We are growing every day.

I have a SW PPK/S and it functions perfectly. Last weekend my daughter limp wristed it once and it failed once. When I explained to her what the problem was it was perfect again. I am impressed with mine.

My Interarms made PPK/S works perfectly with Walther magazines, but jams like mad with my other Mec-Gar magazine that I have for it.

Though very rarely regardless of magazine the slide fails to go all the way forward and I have to pull it back slightly. Not a big enough deal to take it to a gun smith yet, but I also only use it as a fun gun.

My very 1st CHL class in 1996 - an old guy had the same thing happen to him with a Colt 380. They finally pulled him off the range and made him do it later by himself - the gun was being pointed at everyone on both sides as he tried to unjam it.

It can happen to any brand I suppose... Occassionally.

It might be lack of maintenance on the gun too. Guy may have had it sitting there for years - never using it. And, he just took it to the class and expected it to work w/o shooting it beforehand... Who knows...
