I was looking at a used Walter 32 the other day. Brown grips. It had a small clip located at the bottom of the frame under the left side grip. Anyone know if this was used for some type of holster or a way to clip it to something?

Thanks for advice!

Found the answer to my own question.

Just needed the correct key word for my search. "Lanyard" Duh...

Found the following with the correct terminology.

Lanyard:
Usually used on military pistols. The lanyard usually went in a big loop around the neck of the user or through the epaulette and under the arm so that if dropped the pistol would not be lost. Naturally, this has few practical uses in peacetime and probably would be a hindrance for police etc..

Lanyards were also used by mounted troops as dropping the pistol at full gallop presents obvious problems.

Regards to all!
