Does anyone have any good information the possible effectiveness of the .380 round? I've seen the one on THEBOXOTRUTH, but I was wondering if any of you have read anything like this - but from actual shots/circumstances?

Click over to www.google.com and type ".380 one shot stop" in the search box. That should give you plenty to read. Don't forget the "dot" in front of 380 when you type it in the search box....

Good luck!

I'm pretty sure it's comparable to a .38 special out of a snubbie. In theory it'll penetrate about 6-8 inches in gelatin with a hollow-point, and 12-14 inches with a FMJ. I tested my carry ammo on a stack of cardboard squares, soaking in a bucket of water with a layer of denim on top. They went about 5.5 inches, reaching maximum expansion at 3.5 inches, after which the "petals" folded back on themselves for the final 2 inches.

With good shot placement a couple of .380's will get the job done.
