Does anyone have any good information the possible effectiveness of the .380 round? I've seen the one on THEBOXOTRUTH, but I was wondering if any of you have read anything like this - but from actual shots/circumstances?
I'm pretty sure it's comparable to a .38 special out of a snubbie. In theory it'll penetrate about 6-8 inches in gelatin with a hollow-point, and 12-14 inches with a FMJ. I tested my carry ammo on a stack of cardboard squares, soaking in a bucket of water with a layer of denim on top. They went about 5.5 inches, reaching maximum expansion at 3.5 inches, after which the "petals" folded back on themselves for the final 2 inches.
With good shot placement a couple of .380's will get the job done.
