Hi, I have a pp super that has a serial number in the 44,000 range. Does anybody know an approximate manufacture date? West German made in stamp.

Thanks

There should two letters before the Antler on the chamber those are date of manufacture. My PP super has HH or 77 for 1977.

Hi, is there a guide on numbers?
My Super which is an 11K SN has a 75 before the antler. A 44K SN has to be pretty late production gun as they only made them during the 70s and didn't sell many. I love mine. It's one of those rare guns that when you shoot it once you have to have one.

JimBob nailed it - an underappreciated Walther that is fun to shoot, and highly addictive (I just got my 9th one last week).

Geo you're the DUA of Supers. Actually DUA might just be the Geo of P5s ;).

Naw, I typically have two keepers at any given moment, one in each caliber. Sometimes I see a deal or a way to upgrade something like OEM wood grips, which are scarce.

Just took it apart and there on the chamber is the antler, eagle with letter N and the number 72. So 1972 I assume?

Are you sure you have a 44K not 4K SN? 72 is first year of production so it would be odd to have a SN more than 30K higher than my 75.

Yes sir. Totally sure. The slide and frame have the same serial except the serial on the frame is followed by the capitol letter A. It was imported by Interarms, Alexandria VA. Made in W. Germany. The made by stamp reads "Carl Walther Waffenfabrik Ulm/Do. Modelling POOl.9mm Kurtz".
Stupid auto correct.

Modell PPCol.9mmkurtz

Are you sure you have a PP Super and not just a PP? If it’s in 9mm kurz, the slide inscription should look like the attached snips.

It does not say Super. Thanks so much for the pictures. So I assume now that I have the PP. Makes so much more sense.

In that case, I think the serial works for a PP in 9mm kurz. These had their own serial range apart from the 7.65 model.
