Hi all, I have a 1964 pp in .32 caliber. It was imported to the U.S. What I am wondering about is the NDS stamping to the rear of the triggerguard close to the mag release. Anyone have any idea what that stands for?

The NDS mark designates which police department the gun belonged to. I have that information at home, but right now I can't remember which city NDS stands for.

No, as in Germany's Lower Saxony state. (Nd= Nieder, or "lower".)  The "IAC" is the importer's mark -- Interarms Corp.

iac is an old interarms abbreviation is it not? If so is it strange that it would be a police gun imported some time ago?
thanks, Jon

Interarms imported a lot of W. German police PP trade-ins in the early '90s, probably including yours. Mine came in the old Walther alligator box with an end tag showing the actual serial number and stating "Used Pistol". BTW, mine is also from the Lower Saxony Police, and looked almost new when I bought it in 1992.
