Everything to be known about this gun is written on it 馃槈 Made in West Germany in 1988. And it's in .32ACP aka 7,65. Imported into the US by Century Arms International.

Thanks, I guess I should have just asked what year it was made. That's what I was mainly wondering about.

Seems to be a gun, repaired/refurbished acc. to German law in Germany. Your grandpa has got any connections to Germany?

He's retired US Navy. I'm pretty sure he's been there. It would have been during the 60's & 70's.

Serial numbers (inside the slide/on the frame) do not match. So it's hard to tell if the slide repair was done in Germany or later.

It's pretty clear that the slide was replaced, and that it was replaced in Germany, as evidenced by the additional Ulm proof in an unusual place.
