Has anyone ported the Walther P99 .40 for I think I would like to for less kick, I was told up to 20%? Where can I get this done and is it worth it? Also can I get a 2 to 3 pound pull with any aftermarket parts?
Help me please. SURFMASTER

If you port it, your also going to gain other problems.

1) Increased muzzle flash
2) Don't shoot it from the hip, the muzzle blast will burn your clothes and singe your chin.
3) You won't be able to use the gun in IDPA

Moral of the story.......don't port it.

I think sprinco makes a recoil reducer spring for the P99. You might check into that before porting.

Save your money, and take a good shooting course.
My wife attended the OPS Tactical Pistol Course, and she can now shoot .5 second splits into the A zone on a IPSC Silhouette at 7 yards easily. And she was a total novice before that. Recoil management is 90% grip and stance. Get some professional training, and your recoil management problems will dissappear.

you can roll your own loads to get the .40 to feel lighter.

if this is a fun gun, you can swap out the striker spring for a 4# Wolff spring. i get a light strike once out of 200 rds or so of S&B. no problems with winchester. my SA is down around 3# and DA around 5#. if you have alot of rounds through your P99, it may be less noticeable. do a search for Wolff springs.
