Woo Hoo. I got to take home my P99 yesterday. Very excited, I'm taking it out to the range tonight.
First gun.

Here's a question: Looks like they also provided a spent cartridge with the new gun, sealed in a little envelope. Since this is my first gun, why do they provide this?

Certain states require a spend shell casing be on file for each new gun. They figure that it is a "fingerprint" of sorts.

Congrats on your new P99. You chose a great one for a first gun. Wish my first gun had been as good (23 years ago, a 357 Ruger that JAMMED on me constantly - pieces of shaved lead would wedge between the barrel and cylinder - only I could get a revolver to JAM).
