To correct my glaring omission of not providing a photo of my new acquistion, below is my photo of the PP Super. The slide a nd frame stamping doesn;t show up in the photo due to the glare from the finish. The finish on this gun is the finest that I have had the pleasure to own, other than maybe an HK4 that I owned years ago.

I do have a couple more questions about this gun. As I said in another thread, there are no police stampings anywhere on the gun. All I'm seeing is the Interarms on the fame and eagle over "N" on the frame, barrel, and slide along with a stag horn and a dot in circle on the right front of the frame. Is this the police or civilian version? Who makes a conceal holster for this gun?

On ebay I picked up a complete slide for $56 and a second set of grips. The slide has pitting and needs re-finishing, but at the very least I will have numerous spare parts. The slide itself could be restored if need be. The grips (at least the left one) can be brought up to like new condition. I work with plastics extensively so I have the ability to restore plastic grips if it's a matter of dings and scratches. I have also acquired three additional magazines for a total of four. I hope to shoot the gun this weekend.

I picked it up on Gunbroker.com. It cost me $449, and that included 150 rounds of ammo which goes for around $21 per 50.

You don't need an FFL. All you need is a local FFL to handle a transfer. That service costs me a grand total of $25.

Yup, that is the A Plan for buying guns.

On the down side, your home can be entered without a warrant. That remains the only reason why I do not have an FFL.

So, can anyone tell me whether I have an ex-police gun or the civilain version?

One thing that I jsut noticed while restoring two sets of PP Super grips is that there are at least two versions of the standard black grips. In the photo below at left is the left grip panel from the photograph that Uncut posted here showing one variation. This is the same version as the set that I picked up on ebay. At right is the variation that my gun came with. http://img236.imageshack.us/img236/2130/ppgripvc9.jpg

I've been doing a little look around and I'm seeing both versions. Anyone know anything about the grip variations?

Woot woot, guess what got here yesterday? :D :D
I saw an ATF van cruising your neighborhood. Better have everything in order :D
I have the C&R license so I can buy a lot of the prewar/WW2 and Manurhin Walthers. I think the PP Super may not be on the C&R list, though.
If you want a big selection of German made Walthers and other WW2 stuff you can check here:

I think it is a hit and miss on the grips... the pics I have of all the PP Super's have both variations all over the serial range.... though the brown grips that are somewhat scare, I have seen only in one variation

That is a wonderful photo! I don't know which appeals to me more, the cigar or the gun.

I wasn't aware of the different grips until I began restoring my grips from my gun (like yours) and the ones that I got from ebay. And then I went online and as Uncut says the mix between the two black grip types is pretty even. I wish that I knew more about this.

Now to compound the question if you go here http://www.germanguns.de/export/guns/ersatz/zeichnungen/ppsup.jpg there is yet another grip type that Claus told me is for the 9mm kz. But, I thought the frame was the same for both calibers.
